I got good sleep and got up early, and the pre-trip took about four hours.
The project itself took 14 hours and 30 gallons of fuel to cover 650 miles–that’s about as much as I want to do in any one day any more. And that’s with real sanctuary, of the leaden sort, on both ends–none of that ersatz motel junk.
The only bad part was that it was all interstate, a thing I feel about pretty much the same as I do “motels”.
However, it was, mostly, the second-best interstate of all, I-40 through Arizona. (Number 1 intersects it at Flag, and features the Vair Terre; if you know you know.)
The best part of all was saying my pieces in person, no texts, no phones, no Discord.
It was good.
And now I’m home, and good too, and with any luck sleeping as you read this.
Both of you.
