Waiting For Everyman

The public radio says that we should be careful about saying mean things and wishing ill for the oil companies, because, they’re among the leading researchers on how to stop pollution, and we need them on the side of all that is good and holy …

” … if we’re going to have any chance of stopping climate change.”

Where even to start.

First of all, bitches, that ship has sailed. You don’t. We’re fucked.

Beyond that is the reason we’re fucked, and it’s not really because the Exxon Tiger is really the Antichrist in disguise.

He is, and it’s ironic that charismatic megafauna like tigers and lions and p-bears are the hardest hit, but …

The real reason we’re fucked is that there are too many enabler shit-libs like this reporter peppered into the fabric of what passes for culture and media in the Empire.

Too many fucking useful idiots who can be bought of to say stupid things and even believe stupid things with a paycheck that ranges from pitiful NPR scale to millions, for cable anchors.

Pocket change, when even McDonald’s made five billion dollars in pure profit last year, and it was a bad year, and a hamburger place is not an oil company, and they still grouse about a barely liveable $15 minimum wage that they’re not even paying yet.

Being a wage slave means that in exchange for your paycheck, you inevitably start to be stained with the opinions that your masters want you to have.

If you’re a reporter or a professor or any worker in the corporate information economy, you don’t have to be told what NOT to cover. They know. You know. Eventually it just becomes easier to not even think about that stuff.

Or regardless of your profession, to just shut down and say you don’t care about politics, because it’s just safer that way.

And mouth insane twisted half-truths matter-of-factly, all chatty like, like the reporter above did:

“We’re all in this together. You, me, Bill Gates and big pharma, and Texaco too. Diverse humanity, everyone!”

If there’s any justice, they’ll write it on your tombstone, you poor sap.
