I often speak of ‘the Magdalenian 14,000 years ago’ as a touchstone for a time when everybody was a hunter-gatherer.
It is worth remembering that most people were, far later into the process of us domesticating ourselves.
And, that the Magda shorthand only refers to a material culture from one place:
