Saagar Enjeti: This Is A FAKE, Corporate Sponsored ‘Populist Uprising’
I spent a little rare bandwidth watching this one. From the title, and from what I know about Saagar, a nice conservative boy never seen without his tie, I was expecting to be able to write him off permanently, as a tool.
It didn’t work out that way.
His positions do differ substantially from mine, but they’re valid–what he has to say about the looty thing for instance.
But underneath those differences, we have some common cause.
These events are about race, in the short term.
But ultimately they’re about class, and we forget that fact at our peril.
This is the insight Dr. King was coming to in the months before the system cut him down.
"He was planning a massive march for economic justice (jobs, guaranteed income) the same month he was assassinated …"

I’m never going to be a godly man like Martin. But if I ever do join a church, it’s going to be the one he calls in the article the "freedom church of the poor".
