Early in the ep, a doctor told his son a joke. <\/p>\n

Okay, tepidly funny, sure. But … <\/p>\n

Exactly the sly and mean-spirited kind of cultural propaganda I have grown to hate that station for. <\/p>\n

My serious answer to the joke is this:<\/p>\n

“I get it. And maybe you’re right, Dr. PMC. <\/p>\n

But I got around this indoctrination another way.<\/p>\n

I decided that being a ‘musician’ was more important than having a family. <\/p>\n

I made songs instead of making a bunch of mouths to feed, and I’m at peace with that choice even when I’m starving myself. <\/p>\n
