In the early part of the first real week, we baked. It got up over 100 barely, even on the mountain. At one point with the sun streaming through a windshield it got to 109 in the car, and the phone I left there complained and shut down from overheating. Nowhere near as bad as the hell of the Sonoran under a thousand feet. But damned unpleasant briefly even so. <\/p>\n
Yesterday the clouds came back and tonight there was real rain again. I ran the first network class as the last thing before the weekend–at least it should have been, but the Colonel called a fucking Friday meeting to discuss shit that doesn’t matter and that we don’t actually get paid for. So I get to get up earlier than I normally have to, on a day I usually don’t have to work, so he can check a few boxes on his good-boy list or something. <\/p>\n
But I have the rain. <\/p>\n
And I mean it metaphorically too. <\/p>\n
The plan that this is the last year of this is holding strong and so to a lesser degree are the ways and means of getting there. So overall I remain on, up, cheerful. <\/p>\n
Life does need to change and it will. <\/p>\n
