In terms of the painful waiting of the last few days, sure I’m happy. Relieved. But not as thrilled as my text messages want me to be, and not even close. <\/p>\n

It has been interesting to watch the comfortable anchors in their studio chairs. Up until Tuesday, they talked like toadies, doing their best to be ‘respectful’, and ‘objective’. As the story unfolded, they got timidly bold, and started referring to everything Trump said as lies. Damn right, but where have you been for five years?<\/p>\n

As the system decided it was over, all pretense was dropped and their jubilation flowed unchecked. Democracy is saved! Part of me shared in their joy. Most of me felt a little sick at the smell of their gaminess.<\/p>\n

At eight this morning I was still awake and the weather said the rain was coming early. It never did, but the wind kicked up crazy. In the cleansing blow I brought the shed foundation boards in. Twelve hours later, it’s still supposed to be raining, but all that’s happened is a bit of spit and sprinkle still, and still there’s a vague expectation of a brief winter blast, and the firm promise of crazy winds.<\/p>\n
