So it was very very long.<\/p>\n<p>The 26 foot truck I drove was governed at 60 MPH which made it longer than it had to be. <\/p>\n<p>There was a full moon, or pretty close.<\/p>\n<p>The only fireworks to be seen were on the outskirts of Winslow, and they seemed surreal visions through the profound weariness. <\/p>\n<p>During the ponderously slow trip, I noticed a phenomenon I am calling the Grinning Guy Billboards. Most of the grinning guys, half at least, are lawyers. But there are also car dealers. Realtors, half of whom are grinning women. Radio personalities. <\/p>\n<p>My takeaway from noticing this is twofold. One, I never want to grin down from the motoring masses from a billboard. <\/p>\n<p>Two, I think that my life would be improved if I never have to deal with any of the grinning guys in any capacity whatsoever&#8211;not even listening to them on the radio. <\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s all I have for Independence Day proper, reconstructed from the notes. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just notes so far.
